| Friends of Dolpa
is a nonprofit organization focused in the remote mountain District of
Dolpa, Nepal. We work directly with local community groups to improve
education and cultural preservation in the region.
Dolpa
has no
roads
or electricity and little access to basics such as schools or health
care. Pockets of ancient cultures and unique natural environments have
survived intact in this remote corner of Nepal. The current generation
is no longer so isolated. Friends of Dolpa aims to
assist indigenous groups in their process of defining and controlling
their own development, while maintaining unique heritage and traditions.
